Background Stirling
Health & Well-being Alliance (SHWA) was set up and registered
as a Company Limited by Guarantee in September 1997 following on from
an Urban Programme Women and Health Project.

An Alliance of Stirling Council,
NHS Forth Valley, Forth Valley Primary Care NHS Trust and Local
People, the Managment Committee is supported by the Director.
All of our work to date has been done in partnership with local
communities. This work has included: The setting up of Stirling
Health & Well-being Alliance in 1997, Food Poverty Diet Action
Work, Reminiscence Work, addressing the need for Services and Provision
for people with Eating Disorders, the setting up of Scotlands First
Healthy Living Centre,
Training and Consultancy
work and the organising of events local and national.
